Beats Solo 3 VS Beats Studio 3

When it comes to Beats Solo 3 vs Beats Studio 3, there are some clear differences.

Beats Studio 3 is the more expensive option at $200 USD. It uses Apple’s W1 chip, which gives it great bluetooth connectivity with Apple products and offers Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). It’s the better choice if you’re looking for the best sound quality.

Beats Solo 3 is a more affordable option at $100 USD. It also uses Apple’s W1 chip but does not offer Active Noise Cancellation, the good part of this is that it gives it a battery life of 40 hours, when compared to Beats Studio 3’s 22 hours. It’s also lighter and more comfortable on the ears. It’s the better choice if you’re looking for a comfortable and more affordable option.

Let’s review and compare both models and explore everything in detail.

Beats Solo 3 Review

As far as Beats Solo 3 features are concerned, it is a Wireless On-Ear Headphone that features 120-ohm impedance, 20Hz to 20,000Hz frequency response, 7.6 ounces of weight, 40 hours of battery life, microphone for calls, Apple’s W1 chip, fast charging and more.

Starting a review with the design and build quality, Beats Solo 3 has a nice stylish design, and it is available in four different colors: Black, Silver, Red, and Rose Gold.

The Beats Solo 3 has an elegant design with premium memory foam earpads and a nice pleather on the headband, which make the build quality very good. Furthermore, these are flexible enough to fit well on every head.

Next, the comfort quality; being on-ear headphones they can get tiring after 1.5 – 2 hours, but the flexibility of the headband allows for excellent comfort in terms of long wear.

Speaking of sound isolation and cancellation, they do not have active noise canceling, but the design lends itself to blocking most outside noises.

The thing that I like the most about them is their insane battery life. The Beats Solo 3 delivers 40 hours of battery life. You can go for a week by listening to music and calls without charging them.

Finally, the Bluetooth works fine, and the buttons are easy to access similar to Beats Studio 3.

Pros

  • Affordable option at $100
  • More comfortable due to its flexibility
  • 40 hours of battery life with playing music and listening to calls
  • Lighter weight at 7.6 ounces

Cons

  • No Active Noise Cancellation
  • Less sound quality than Beats Solo Pro

Beats Studio 3 Review and Comparison with Beats Solo 3

So far, we found Beats Solo 3 is a nice option that offers nice features at an affordable price. Now let’s take a look at beats studio 3 headphones and compare with the Beats Solo 3 headphones.

Before we start, let’s take a quick look at the features Beats Studio 3 headphone offers.

The Beats Studio 3 headphone features active noise cancellation, Pure adaptive noise canceling, 22 hours of battery life when ANC is ON, and 40 hours when ANC is OFF, W1 chip, rapid charge technology, plenty of color options, and more.

Starting with the design and build quality, Beats Studio 3 has soft matte plastic that looks excellent, and when you hold in, the hands feel very smooth. The build quality is solid. These are made of plastic and metal. However, the only visible parts that are made of metal are the adjustable headband and hinges. Overall, Beats Studio 3 has a solid build, and at this price range, it should be. The good thing is they offer plenty of color options so that you can choose your favorite.

As far as comfort quality is concerned, wearing for a long period of time will not cause any discomfort or fatigue. However, after quite some time, you will feel hot, which is expected with closed-back headphones. They have a soft over-ear cushion that features an advanced venting system that gives you excellent comfort. Also, these are very flexible that allows you to set where you feel better comfortable. Furthermore, these are foldable and come with a solid carrying case so you can carry them easily.

Beats Studio 3 features a W1 chip that has class 1 Bluetooth connectivity. In simple words, W1 chips give you a long Bluetooth range and increase the signal strength, reducing the lag issues. However, the W1 chip works with only apple devices.

It also features active noise cancelation. Active noise cancellation works perfectly and reduces almost all outside noises. The over-ear design also gives plenty of passive noise cancelation. You can turn on and off active noise cancelation by pressing the power button twice and through the mobile app. With Turn OFF ANC, you’ll get 40 hours of battery life, and with ANC ON, you’ll get 22 hours of battery life.

Speaking of the control system, they have a few different buttons to ON/OFF headphones and enable/disable ANC. The rest of the control system is controlled by swiping and tapping the “b” logo on the left ear cup. They also feature a 3.5mm input for audio cable and a micro USB 2.0 port for charging.

Okay, now let’s talk about the sound; Beats Studio 3 are bassy headphones. They are more emphasis on the lower frequencies. But honestly, mids and highs are not too clear and pleasant. Furthermore, if you expect more natural and equal frequencies sound, you’ll be disappointed. However, if you’re a die-hard bass lover, these are for you. But at this price range, I expect much better than that.

Pros

  • Better sound quality
  • Active Noise Cancellation
  • Long battery life with rapid-charge technology. 22 hours with ANC and 40 hours without it
  • Seamless bluetooth connectivity

Cons

  • Expensive option at $200
  • Weights more at 9.4 ounces
  • Less comfortable than Beats Solo 3

Final Thoughts

Summing things up:

Beats Studio 3 has better sound quality and active sound cancellation.

Beats Solo 3 is less expensive, more comfortable and weights less.

Speaking of their similarities, both offer a long battery life and have the same controls. If you’re looking for comfort and low price at around $100, Beats Solo 3 is a good option but if you want ANC and better sound quality, then definitely go for beats Studio 3.
