When it comes to Skullcandy Crusher vs Beats Studio 3, there are some clear differences. Skullcandy Crusher is a more affordable option, while Beats Studio is a bit more expensive. Skullcandy Crusher and Beats Studio 3 both are wireless while Beats Studio uses Apple’s WL chip.

Skullcandy has a better battery life, offering 40 hours of playtime compared to Beats Studio’s 22 hours. Skullcandy Crusher is the better choice if you’re looking for a more affordable option and don’t mind Skullcandy’s branding. If you’re looking for the best sound quality and want to use Apple products, then Beats Studio is the better choice.

Let’s review and compare both models and explore everything in detail…

SkullCandy Crusher Review

SkullCandy is one of the brands that manufacture headphones for casual listeners at an affordable price, and it is a way better option than some super cheap headphones.

As far as SkullCandy crusher features are concerned, it is a Wireless Over-Ear Headphone that features 33-ohm impedance, 20Hz to 20,000Hz frequency response, adjustable sensory bass, 40 hours of battery life, microphone for calls, rapid charging technology, and more.

Skullcandy crusher review

Starting a review with the design and build quality, Skullcandy crusher headphone has a nice stylish design, and it is available in four different colors Black, White, Deep Red, and Olive.

The build quality of the SkullCandy Crusher is not luxurious but decent. It is made of plastic that feels cheap, but the metal band, premium memory foam earpads, and nice pleather on headband make the build quality decent. Furthermore, these are flexible enough to fit well on every head.

Next, the comfort quality; as I mentioned earlier, they have premium memory foam earpads and pleather on a headband that ensures excellent comfort in terms of long wear. However, one thing I want to mention is they didn’t swivel horizontally and only 5 degrees vertically.

I noticed with the design that they didn’t swivel horizontally or vertically(only 5 degrees vertically). If you have a small or medium-size head, it does not make much difference, but if you have a large head like mine, then the pad’s bottom clamps more than the top. And you’ll feel extra pressure, not too much, but it’s worth mentioning. Overall these have excellent comfort for long wearings.

Speaking of sound isolation and cancellation, they do not have active noise canceling, but the over-ear closed-back design does have sound isolation. Sound isolation does a good job of blocking noises.

The thing that I like the most about them is their insane battery life. Skullcandy crusher delivers 40 hours of battery life. You can go for a week by listening to music and calls without charging them. Furthermore, it features rapid charge technology, giving you 3 hours of battery life with only 10minutes of charge.

Speaking of the sound quality, if you like bass-heavy music, then you probably like SkullCandy Crusher. The 33-ohm impedance allows you to drive them on any device without compromising the sound quality. Skullcandy headphones feature adjustable sensory bass. Through a slider placed on the ear cup, you can adjust the bass. However, at the lowest bass setting, you can feel bass.

This part is subjective, which means many people like this much bass, and many complain bass is muddy and undefined. So if you like heavy bass, it will not disappoint you, but if you prefer more natural and equal frequencies, it’s not for you. You better check out beats studio 3.

Finally, the Bluetooth works fine, and the buttons are easy to access and have a nice click sound.

Pros

  • Nice design
  • Premium memory foam earpads and pleather on headband makes them comfortable for longer wearing.
  • 40 hours of battery life with playing music and listening to calls
  • Flooding hinges
  • The bass slider allows you to increase or decrease the bass.
  • Affordable
  • If you like bass-heavy sound, these are for you.

Cons

  • Made of plastic which feels cheap
  • People who like more neutral sounds will not enjoy it much.
  • Micro USB charger

Beats Studio 3 Review and Comparison with SkullCandy Crusher

So far, we found SkullCandy Crusher is a nice headphone that offers nice features at a very affordable price. Now let’s take a look at beats studio 3 headphones and compare with the Skullcandy crusher headphone.

Before we start, let’s take a quick look at the features Beats Studio 3 headphone offers.

The Beats Studio 3 headphone features active noise cancellation, Pure adaptive noise canceling, 22 hours of battery life when ANC is ON, and 40 hours when ANC is OFF, W1 chip, rapid charge technology, plenty of color options, and more.

beats studio 3 review

Starting with the design and build quality, Beats Studio 3 has soft matte plastic that looks excellent, and when you hold in, the hands feel very smooth. The build quality is solid. These are made of plastic and metal. However, the only visible parts that are made of metal are the adjustable headband and hinges. Overall, Beats Studio 3 has a solid build, and at this price range, it should be. The good thing is they offer plenty of color options so that you can choose your favorite.

As far as comfort quality is concerned, wearing for a long period of time will not cause any discomfort or fatigue. However, after quite some time, you will feel hot, which is expected with closed-back headphones. They have a soft over-ear cushion that features an advanced venting system that gives you excellent comfort. Also, these are very flexible that allows you to set where you feel better comfortable. Furthermore, these are foldable and come with a solid carrying case so you can carry them easily.

There are two things Beats Studio 3 is popular and a step ahead of Skullcandy crusher, and one of them is the W1 chip. Beats Studio 3 features a W1 chip that has class 1 Bluetooth connectivity. In simple words, W1 chips give you a long Bluetooth range and increase the signal strength, reducing the lag issues. However, the W1 chip works with only apple devices.

The second good thing about these is active noise cancelation. Active noise cancellation works perfectly and reduces almost all outside noises. The over-ear design also gives plenty of passive noise cancelation. You can turn on and off active noise cancelation by pressing the power button twice and through the mobile app. With Turn OFF ANC, you’ll get 40 hours of battery life, and with ANC ON, you’ll get 22 hours of battery life.

Speaking of the control system, they have a few different buttons to ON/OFF headphones and enable/disable ANC. The rest of the control system is controlled by swiping and tapping the “b” logo on the left ear cup. They also feature a 3.5mm input for audio cable and a micro USB 2.0 port for charging.

Okay, now let’s talk about the sound; Beats Studio 3 are bassy headphones. They are more emphasis on the lower frequencies. But honestly, mids and highs are not too clear and pleasant. Furthermore, if you expect more natural and equal frequencies sound, you’ll be disappointed. However, if you’re a die-hard bass lover, these are for you. But at this price range, I expect much better than that.

Pros

  • Nice build quality
  • Flexible, soft ear, and headband cushion makes them great for wearing for a long period.
  • Long battery life with rapid-charge technology
  • Compatible with both IOS and Android
  • Active noise cancellation
  • Real-time audio calibration preserves a premium listening experience.
  • Low frequency emphasized

Cons

  • Pricy
  • Sound quality is not what we expect at this price range.

Final Thoughts

If you read the above review of both Beats Studio 3 and Skullcandy crushers, you probably already know which one to choose.

However, to make things easier, I’m going, to sum up, things here.

Overall, Beats Studio 3 is a better option because Beats Studio 3 has a better build, comfort, and sound quality than SkullCandy Crusher. Furthermore, beats studio 3 features ANC and W1 chips.

Speaking of their similarities, both offer long battery life and are the bass emphasis. If you’re looking for low price bass-heavy headphones at around $100 price, Skullcandy is a good option but if you want ANC and better quality, then definitely go for beats studio 3.
